I call my painting style "Zafer style." The word "Zafer" comes from the Mauritian Creole and is generally used to name something indefinite or when the name of a particular object is unknown. Here, it is used to describe an unclassifiable style of painting.

My style of painting exhibits a highly stylised and surreal artistic approach, blending elements of psychedelic, pop art, and abstract expressionism. The characteristics of this artwork include:

 

Bold Use of Color – My paintings feature vibrant and highly saturated hues, with an emphasis on contrasting colours to create a lively, almost electric feel.

 

Geometric and Patterned Elements – The objects are filled with geometric shapes and repetitive patterns, adding a sense of rhythm and movement.

 

Heavy Outlining and Stylisation – Thick black outlines define forms, reminiscent of stained glass or comic book illustrations, adding to the strong graphical quality.

 

This painting draws inspiration from modern pop art and psychedelic art, possibly influenced by Fauvism and Naïve Art. It embraces a dreamlike, almost otherworldly aesthetic. 

 

The style is both emotional and utopian. It invites viewers to experience a world that is idealised yet deeply felt. The emotional aspect of my work is conveyed through the vibrant palette and expressive forms, while the utopian quality reflects an ideal world, untouched by the harshness of reality. My art ultimately seeks to transport the viewer to a harmonious and idyllic realm, where nature and geometry coexist in perfect balance.
